Just like everyone else in the world we have had to make adjustments due to Covid19.
Our original plan was to start the PCT on March 26th at the southern California border and through hike to Canada by October. 2664 miles.
As crazy as it seems we were ready to tackle every mile together. Packs ready and plans set to fly down to the starting point. Instead, because of covid, we have spent this time in lockdown with no mountains to climb.
We left our apartment at the end of January and have been staying with family since then. It was all part of the plan, put the cars away, quit jobs, live the next months 6 in wilderness and trail life.
However sad, we regret nothing. The safety of ourselves and others is always the top priority. Hiking in any way during that time would have put risk to everyone involved.
Now that trails have started to open up and hiking with face masks is allowed in Washington, we are going to get back on the trail and start exploring!
